AsiaNextGen is a group of young professional Asian Americans seeking to address community needs and to engage in high impact philanthropy by coming together and strategically funding issues of common interest. Our mission is to educate and empower both our grant recipients and our members through our compassion for Asian Americans in need. This can only be achieved through the direct involvement of one’s time and skills or money.

The goals of AsiaNextGen include impacting social change, leveraging monetary contributions, infusing expertise and skills with financial and intellectual capital, and educating and growing the next generation of philanthropists.

New York City has the largest Asian American population of all the major metropolitan areas in the US. 14% of Asian Americans in the United States live in poverty and face significant barriers in accessing social services. In New York, approximately 25% of Asian seniors and children live below the poverty line¹. AsiaNextGen will identify needs in local Asian American communities as well as provide Asian American nonprofits with additional sources of much needed funding.

AsiaNextGen provides a powerful hands-on opportunity to collaborate with others to make focused, social investments. Members also learn about philanthropy and increase their understanding of philanthropic areas of interest. Furthermore, members also have the opportunity to pool their resources with a social network who share common interests and values. Joining AsiaNextGen allows individuals to have a greater understanding of our community needs and for more direct control of funds raised.

Members make a minimum tax-deductible $1,000 commitment per year for two years. Members must also attend monthly leadership meetings and site visits, when necessary.
