$25,000 was awarded on September 25, 2007 for the Sino-American Community Center in support of Project CARE, Chinese Americans Restoring Elders, a new initiative to reduce and prevent elder abuse in New York City's Chinese American community.

Located in Chinatown, New York City, the Sino-American Community Center was established in 1990. It was originally founded by a small group of refugees from Indochina who wanted to create a self-help organization that would help form a linkage with their past while helping refugees who came after them. Initially, the Center served mainly seniors offering ESL classes, naturalization services, and senior employment training. However, over time the Center has expanded to include services to the entire community.

The 2nd Annual Award Reception, was underwritten by Safran restuarant.
